North York Baseball is proud to host the 2009 Bantam Girls Championships. Bond Park is located south of Hwy 401, between Don Mills Rd and Leslie Street. As we have recently taken on this task, there are a few details still to be confirmed. As of now, please take note of the following:
ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Teams must arrive in Toronto (Pearson Airport or Union Station) by 12 noon on Thursday, August 20. Players and coaches are asked to attend a welcome barbeque at Bond Park from 4pm to 7pm on August 20 (complimentary for players and coaches). Teams are encouraged to wear team jerseys and hats. Family members wishing to attend the welcome barbecue may do so (there will be a $10 charge to be paid at the barbecue.)
Team officials are asked to email your complete arrival and departure schedule to jekay66@hotmail.com as soon as possible. Included in this email (or a later email), you must provide a breakdown of the exact number of players, coaches and family members arriving (not a total number, but how many players, how many coaches, etc.), so that we have transportation available.
ACCOMMODATION
Coaches, players, family members and umpires will be housed at the Seneca College Newnham Residence and Conference Centre, 1760 Finch Avenue East.

(subject to 10% tax)
Should teams wish to arrive prior to August 20 or stay past August 23, this can be arranged when you make your accommodation booking.
Rooms must be booked by Monday, July 27. Rooms can be held with a credit card. Your card will be charged when you check in.

TRANSPORTATION
All teams, family members and umpires will be provided transportation to and from the airport as well as to and from Bond Park for all games. There will be a one-time charge for the transportation of family members. This rate will include the park entrance fee. At this time, the rate has not been determined.
MEETINGS
The pre-tournament meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 20 at 5pm during the welcome barbeque. Each team is permitted to send only two reps per team and their provincial representative.
UMPIRES
Umpires must arrive in Toronto, Pearson Airport by 12 noon on Thursday, August 20. Umpires are asked to attend a welcome barbeque from 4 – 7pm on August 20 at Bond Park. Umpires will receive a Meal Per Diem from the Host Committee upon arrival at the championships. Umpires must email jekay66@hotmail.com, with your arrival and departure info.
ACCOMMODATION FOR UMPIRES
Umpires will be housed at the Seneca College Newnham Residence and Conference Centre, 1760 Finch Avenue East. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodation will be paid by the host committee from August 20 to August 23. Umpires wishing to arrive prior to August 20 or stay past August 23 may do so at their own expense.
CLOSING CEREMONIES
Closing ceremonies will be held at Bond Park after the final game.
GAME TICKETS (Entrance Fee)
This cost will be included in the one-time transportation fee for family members. Players and NCCP accredited coaches will NOT be subject to this cost. Teams will be required to collect the transportation/game ticket fee prior to arrival in Toronto and provide North York Baseball with a cheque upon arrival at the welcome barbeque. (Cheque payable to “North York Baseball”)
For the Ontario team, as no transportation will be provided, a park entry fee (to be determined) will be charged. This fee should be submitted (cheque payable to “North York Baseball”) at the welcome barbeque.

2009 CANADIAN BANTAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Toronto Blue Jays are thrilled to be a part of the 2009 Baseball Canada Bantam Girls Championship in North York.
The Blue Jays would like to extend a welcome to all of the Provincial girls championship teams across Canada to the Special National Championship Tournament Day on Wednesday August 19th, 2009 at the Rogers Centre. That evening The Toronto Blue Jays will host the Boston Red Sox and would like to offer your team a once in a life time opportunity.
Bring your team to the game, receive a special discount on tickets and take part in a “Parade of Champions”. Each team will be introduced prior to the game as they parade along the outfield wall. Each team member will receive a special Toronto Blue Jays baseball cap, and the opportunity to have a team photo with one of our 2009 Toronto Blue Jays players or Coaches.
