The City of Victoria and the Victoria HarbourCats welcome you!  We look forward to hosting the event and will aim to make the experience a memorable one for all teams, players, staff and fans.

 

Teams: 9 Provincial representative teams and 1 Host. Further information on teams,

 

Arrival: All Teams and Coaches are to be in Victoria, and checked into Hotel by 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 22. Teams will require a credit card for room registration at the hotel.

 

Airport: Each Team will be picked up at Airport and bussed to the hotel, and to the  Home Run Derby that evening.  Teams will be provided transport back to airport for departure.  Please send us your arrival date and time once you have it and a minimum of 3-4 weeks before the start of tournament.  (See contact information below)

Accommodations: All Players and coaches will be staying at either the Accent Inn (https://www.accentinns.com) or Hotel ZED (https://www.hotelzed.com), and will be notified which hotel they will be placed at, by the tournament committee.  All tournament umpires will be staying at Paul’s Motor Inn (http://www.paulsmotorinn.com) Family and friends may book at any of those locations, or at the Rialto Hotel (http://www.hotelrialto.ca). 

 

Transportation: All transportation during the tournament from host hotels to the playing fields and practice fields will be provided. Buses are for teams only.  Note: All Teams will be scheduled to be taken by bus to their game allowing for a minimum of one hour before start of game. This will mean that some teams will be leaving the hotel earlier than other teams for their expected start time.

Opening Ceremonies:  Thursday, Aug 23 at 6:15PM at Royal Athletic Park.  Teams will be sent a complete schedule, timeline and details for the opening ceremonies & HR Derby (“Victoria Mobile Radio RAP home run derby) in advance of your arrival.

 

Home Run Derby: Wednesday, August 22  at 6:00 pm At Royal Athletic park.

 

Coaches Meeting: After HR derby, location at Accent Inn. Meeting room details will be sent to teams in advance of your arrival and will also be available upon arrival at the host Hotel.  Each team is allowed 2 representatives at the meeting. Estimated start time 9:30 pm

 

Closing Ceremonies and Awards:  Sunday, Aug 26 at Royal Athletic Park at the conclusion of the Gold medal game.

 

FieldsRoyal Athletic Park (Field 1) and Lambrick Park (Field 2) are both located in Victoria.  Royal Athletic Park is approximately 5 minutes from the host hotel.  Lambrick Park is approximately 15 minutes from the host hotel. 

 

Chef De Mission: Please provide us the contact information of the Chef De Mission of each team, including phone number and e-mail address ASAP but no later than 4 weeks before the start of the tournament. We would also like a short Bio of your team for inclusion in the program ASAP for the program.  Contact us at the contact information at bottom of page.

Restaurants/Shopping/Activities: All players, coaches, umpires are within minutes of a multitude of Restaurants, Shopping Malls, Movie Theatres, Drug Stores, and various amenities.

Tournament Memorabilia and Wearables: Baseball Canada, Tournament and Harbourcats merchandise will be sold at Royal Athletic Park and the HarbourCats office (1814 Vancouver Street).

 

Amenities: Royal Athletic Park will have food truck vendors and concession on site with a variety of ballpark & entertainment style food.  Lambrick Park (Field 2) will have concessions operated by Gordon Head Baseball, with restrooms. No alcohol at second field.

 

Alcohol: Bringing alcohol onto the premises is not allowed.  All players, coaches, team members, officials and umpires are encouraged to participate in this tournament responsibly. 

 

Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the CRD by bylaw at public buildings or events .There is no smoking at Royal Athletic Park or within the grand stands playing areas  at Lambrick park.  No exceptions

 

Safety/Security/Medical: There will be security at both locations.  Medical staff will be on site at all baseball games. Please know where your children are at all times. No playing under stands or in bulpens. Unusual or dangerous behavior please report immediately to volunteers on site, security on site, or to police.

 

Lost Items: Report to Tournament Officials at Royal Athletic Park.
