Baseball Canada Women’s Invitational National Championships

Updated schedule and format and rosters
We had to modify the schedule following Team West decision to not attend the event. The tournament is now a full round robin (5 games per team) with the top 2 teams playing for gold medal game and Teams 3 and 4 playing for bronze. Teams 5 and 6 will play for position. For your information, rosters are due to Baseball Canada today.
Pre-championship meeting
Meeting is scheduled to happen on Wednesday the 21st at 9pm at Seneca College. Please go to 4th floor where a small meeting room will be set up for us. 1 or 2 reps per team are welcome to the meeting only. This is a technical meeting for the event so there is no need for your players to attend.

Opening Ceremonies and Welcome BBQ
All teams are welcome to attend opening ceremonies on Wednesday the 21st at Bond Park. Cost is $10 per participant and it includes hot dogs or burgers, 2 salads (Potato and greek), pop/water drinks and fresh fruit. Make sure you pay the organizing committee on site. It is good opportunity to chat and mingle before the tournament starts the following day. Teams must arrive at Bond Park for the Opening Ceremonies, 4pm July 21st. Players and Coaches are asked to wear their team jerseys. Following the opening ceremonies the will be a Welcome BBQ from 5-7pm.
National Team
Again this year, we will use the tournament to select athletes for the national team. Announcement will be made after the gold medal game only. With a roster of 20, we are looking at inviting 22-24 to camp that will follow in Toronto from the 26th to the 29th.

Transportation can be arranged through Pam Richardson with Coach Canada 1-800-461-7661 ext 293. You will find this company has a variety of vehicles to fit your needs.
For those teams wishing to practice we have a field available on site, please email me with your request for time.
Fees/Expenses.
At this point in time there will not a team fee to enter the tournament. There is no cost to players and coaches entering the facility for the games, practices or the Opening Ceremonies. For non players, coaches wishing to enter the facility there will be a one time charge of 10$ person 10 years of age and over (under 10 are free). This covers all games, practices and the Opening Ceremonies.
Please have your team manager collect these fees in advance and submit a cheque to me, payable to North York Baseball, upon your arrival. Please let the Host know how many entrance fee passes and how many Welcome BBQ meals your team will require, in advance.
