Greetings from Richmond City Baseball in beautiful British Columbia. We are proud to host the Baseball Canada Bantam Girls National Championships here on the beautiful west coast. Plans are well underway to ensure that this year’s championship will be an event to remember for all involved.
We would like to outline some of the details to make your British Columbia Adventure enjoyable. Please take some time to review the below details.
TEAMS: (Players, Coaches, and Team Officials)
Teams must arrive in Richmond, BC by 4:00pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2010. There are hotel shuttles available to transport all of you from the airport to the hotels.
Players, Coaches, Managers, and Umpires will be treated to an informal West Coast welcome barbeque at 6:00pm on August 25, 2010 at the Richmond Olympic Oval. This barbeque is complimentary for all coaches, managers, players, and umpires. Tickets are available for any parents, siblings, or other family members or friends that would like to attend for a cost of $20.00 each, if teams want multiple extra tickets there will be a discount percentage applied. Upon arrival at the barbeque all guests must check in at the admin table.
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES:
All players, coaches, and managers are staying at The Comfort Inn, 3031 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC, 604-207-2385. All guests of The Comfort Inn will receive a complimentary breakfast, and bus shuttles to and from the ball parks. Accommodations should be booked on or before June 30, 2010.
Baseball Canada officials, umpires, and guests will be staying at The Executive Inn Express, 9020 Bridgeport Road, Richmond, BC, 604-270-6030(Harris Lam). A free shuttle will be provided to and from the airport, and breakfast is included. Guests may also take advantage of the great hotel rate of $99.00 per night.
All games will be played at Brighouse Park and Blundell Park. Both parks have seating, washrooms, space for equipment, storage, and full concession. Practise fields are available, Blundell North and South fields with batting cages. Bookings can be made on a first come first serve basis by contacting Warren Karsgaard @ 604-908-0367.
TRANSPORTATION:
Bus shuttle from the airport to both hotels are available. The Comfort Inn has a shuttle that will be supplied to and from the fields. A schedule has been attached...please see above.
MEETINGS:
The pre-championship meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 25th, 2010 @ 8:30pm at Richmond Olympic Oval (meeting room to be determined). Each team is only permitted to bring two(2) representatives to the meeting plus their provincials representative.
UMPIRES:
Umpires should arrive in Richmond, BC by 4:00pm on or before August 25, 2010.
Accommodations for umpires have been arranged at the Executive Inn Express. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are available and paid by the host committees from August 25 – 31 (inclusive). Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures.
