We are very excited to welcome Baseball Canada back to Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo this summer! We are thrilled to be your hosts for this year’s 2024 Baseball Canada Cup Championships.

            ABOUT FORT MCMURRAY           

Fort McMurray is located in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB). The RMWB is a collection of several communities, of which Fort McMurray is the urban centre. Fort McMurray offers a wide range of services, including hotels, restaurants, retail stores and more. The majority of the retail and restaurant opportunities are located in the downtown core where you will find:

ABOUT THE VENUE

The two fields for the 2024 Baseball Canada Cup:

 

  • Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place, MacDonald Island Park
  • Ross Hennigar Ball Park, located in the Thickwood neighbourhood, Fort McMurray

Legacy Dodge Field at Shell Place is located at MacDonald Island Park, Canada’s largest recreation centre which features a full service facility including the Miskanaw Golf Club and Suncor Community Leisure Centre. Located in the Suncor Community Leisure Centre are several amenities, including the Syncrude Aquatic Centre, Legacy Dodge Fitness Centre, indoor running track, CNOOC Field House 1 & 2, Pepsi Climbing Wall, squash and racquetball courts, and more. Each player, coach, chef de mission, and umpire will also have complimentary day pass access to MacDonald Island Park on behalf of the 2024 Host Committee by showing your event accreditation to Guest Services to obtain your daily wristband.

MacDonald Island Park is also home to the Miskanaw Golf Club. From August 5thth up to and including August 12th, the following discounts are provided for participants, coaches, chef de missions, umpires, and Baseball Canada representatives. They include:

Driving Range:

Large Bucket – Regular Rate: $15              Canada Cup Championship Discounted Rate: $7.50

Small Bucket – Regular Rate $10                Canada Cup Championship Discounted Rate: $5

Daily Green Fee:

9 Holes – Regular Rate: $65                          Canada Cup Championship Discounted Rate: $50

18 Holes – Regular Rate: $115                     Canada Cup Championship Discounted Rate: $85

  • Complimentary club rentals will be provided
  • Based on availability
  • Please contact the Pro Shop to reserve your tee time up to 5 days in advance at 780.790.1812
  • Cancellations are requested 24 hrs in advance
  • Any participant who rents or drives a power cart will require a valid drivers license at time of purchase
