OTTAWA, ON - The Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance (CSTA) is pleased to announce it is now accepting nominations for its annual CSTA PRESTIGE Awards which celebrate the people, places and events that make the Canadian sport tourism industry so dynamic and diverse. These awards are presented annually in five categories to individuals, companies, events and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the success of the sport tourism industry across Canada.
The 2012 CSTA PRESTIGE Awards will be presented at a gala luncheon event on April 19, 2012 in conjunction with CSTA’s Sport Events Congress that will be held April 18-20 at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC.

• Canadian Sport Event of the Year
• International Sport Event of the Year
• Community Service Award
• Post-Secondary Sport Event of the Year
• President’s Award*
• Sport Event Sponsor of the Year (Domestic &Int’l)
(*for Sport Builders, Professional Events, Multi-Sport Games, New & Unique Events Public Sector Successes, Sport Conferences & Achievement etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
• Award nominations must have occurred during the 2011 calendar year unless otherwise specified.
• Self-nominations are permitted and encouraged by individuals or organizations.
Nomination Deadline
Nominations for the 2012 CSTA PRESTIGE Awards will be accepted via email until 4:00 pm EST on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012. The nomination forms and supporting information can be found online at www.canadiansporttourism.com.

The Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance is a member driven, tourism industry led organization that promotes sport tourism as a key economic development initiative at the community level. The CSTA services over 200 members across Canada, including 105 municipalities, 55 national sport, multi-sport and major games organizations and variety of other national and provincial sport and tourism industry partners.
