OTTAWA — The inaugural Women’s Professional Baseball League (WPBL) Draft is set to take place tonight, November 20 at 8:00 PM ET, marking another historic milestone in the continued growth of women’s baseball.
This year’s draft features six rounds, with 20 selections per round and five picks per team, for a potential total of 120 players drafted. The WPBL will use a snake-style format, with teams reversing order every round. The draft order was determined by a random draw and is as follows:
Twenty Canadians are featured on the official WPBL Draft Prospect List, showcasing one of the strongest national contingents in the field. Among them, 12 athletes have previously represented Canada internationally including Ela Day-Bédard, Claire Eccles, Liz Gilder, Zoe Hicks, Madison Willan, Andréanne Leblanc, Jaida Lee, Autumn Mills, Raine Padgham, Michelle Roche and Alli Schroder, while two others (Juliete Kladko and Addie Ziebart) recently impressed at Baseball Canada’s 2025 Women’s National Team Development Camp.
Fans can watch the entire event live on the WPBL’s Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube channels, with real-time results also available on the WPBL website and X (formerly Twitter):
