2006 Women's ChampionshipsDates TBA   Gatineau, Québec

Participant Info

Entry fees: $500 payable to Baseball Canada at least 30 days prior to the championship.

Dates: From Thursday July 20th to the Sunday July 23rd inclusively.

Location: Sanscartier Park in Gatineau (map and directions in attachment)

Format: Round robbin with top 4 teams advancing to semi-finals.

Local transportation: Teams traveling by bus shall use their vehicle for local transportation. Local transportation will be provided for teams flying.

Flying information: Teams shall book flights to the Ottawa International Airport.

Accommodations: Accommodations is the team’s responsibility. You will find attached some options available for you.

Meals: All meals are at teams’ expenses. A restaurant is on site for your convenience. Other restaurants are available and located at walking distance from the park (5-10 minutes walk)

Team Canada: This tournament will also help selecting Team Canada for the World Cup in Taiwan on August 1-6. All interested players must have a valid Canadian passport in order to be considered.  Team Canada will be announced on July 23rd and selected athletes won’t return home until the team gets back on August 7th.

Pre-Championship meeting: A pre-championship meeting will be held at Sanscartier Park at 3pm on July 20th. All coaches must attend the meeting.

From Eastern Canada, get to Montréal and take Highway 40 West. Always follow indications for Hull/Ottawa. This highway will change number for 417 once you get to Ontario. You keep going on 417 until you get to Ottawa. You take exit Nicholas/Hill/Aut. 5. You go all the way on Nicholas and you will turn right on Rideau and left right after on King Edward. You then follow the sign for Hull/Aut. 5. Once the bridge (Ontario-Québec) crossed, follow the sign for Gatineau/Montréal (Aut. 50). You keep going and exit at Boul. Labrosse where you will turn right at the lights. Keep going on that street (will change name for Sanscartier) until the end of it where the park will be on your right.

From Toronto, take highway 401 until you get to Highway 416 north. After the 416, take exit for Highway 417 east to Ottawa. You keep going on 417 until you get to Ottawa.
