Greetings from Spruce Grove, Alberta – host of the 2017 DQ® 13U National Western Championship.
Planning is well underway to ensure that everyone attending this Championship Tournament will have an enjoyable experience during their time in Spruce Grove. Please carefully review the following details regarding the tournament to ensure that your visit to Spruce Grove will be a memorable one.

TEAMS (Players, Coaches and Team Officials)
Teams are requested to arrive in Spruce Grove no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017.
Activities are being planned for teams on Wednesday August 16th, including a Welcome Barbeque and a Home Run Derby. Details will be sent to the participating teams once the teams have been determined.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will only be offered to teams, umpires and tournament officials.
Teams and officials flying into the Edmonton International Airport will be picked up and transported to their accommodation. Return transportation will be provided on your departure.
Transportation, as required, will be provided for players, coaches and other team officials, and umpires and tournament officials between the ball field and the host hotels only.

TOURNAMENT VENUE
All games will be played at Henry Singer Ball Park, 120 South Avenue, Spruce Grove, AB. This complex contains two diamonds which will be used for play, Henry Singer 1 and 3. There are also 2 other diamonds that are available for practice and warm up, as well as 2 sets of batting cages. The park concession will be open through the tournament. Washrooms are also available on site.

The batting cages and practice diamonds will be available for booking through the SGMB Diamond Scheduler (DiamondScheduler@sprucegroveminorball.com).
WELCOME BARBEQUE
Spruce Gove Minor Ball will be hosting a Welcome Barbeque for all teams including players and officials at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16th, at Henry Singer Ball Park Field #3 that will include beef on a bun, sides and snacks and a possible guest speaker at 6:30 pm. There will be a cost of $10 per person except for players, coaches, and Provincial Representative. The attendance of all players and coaches is requested. Pre-order forms for tickets to the Welcome Barbeque will be sent to each team once the teams are known.
A Home Run Derby and Skills competition will be held at 7:00 pm on Henry Singer Diamond #3. Details of this competition will also be sent to all teams.
OPENING CEREMONY
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. on Henry Singer Diamond #1. All teams, umpires and officials are expected to participate and are asked to be at the ball park by 3:00 p.m. Please bring your provincial flag.
MEETINGS
The Pre-Championship Coaches Meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 16th 2017 at 5:00 pm at the Elks Hall.
Each team is permitted to send two (2) representatives per team and their provincial representative.
UMPIRES
Umpires should arrive in Spruce Grove on Wednesday evening. Transportation will be provided to and from the airport and during the tournament.
Umpires are invited to attend the Welcome BBQ at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16th at Henry Singer Ball Park.
Accommodation for Umpires has been arranged at the Motel 6, Stony Plain. There will be two umpires per room. Accommodations are available and paid for by the Host Committee from August 16 to August 21 (5 nights).
Individual umpires must arrange and cover costs for earlier arrival and later departures.
TICKET PRICES
Weekend Pass: ($25) Admission for one person for the entire 4-5 days of the event.
Day Pass: ($10) Single day admission on the day of purchase only - must be purchased at gate Banquet Meal Ticket?: ($10) Dinner for one during banquet event. *See menu for details.
National Westerns Program: ($10) One Program of events, teams and schedule.
Door Prize Ticket: One entry into the door prize draw for a custom made baseball gift - ONLY available through pre-purchase packages.
