Baseball New Brunswick welcomes new Executive Director

OTTAWA- Baseball New Brunswick has welcomed Dan Murphy (Rexton, NB) to the provincial organizations head office in the role of Executive Director.

Murphy takes over the position from David Dion who served the membership of Baseball New Brunswick for over a year.

“My hopes for the job are to help promote the growth of baseball across the province,” said Murphy after settling into the position. “I’d also like to provide more development opportunities for players, coaches and officials.”

Murphy is a recent graduate of the University of St. Thomas where he majored in history and political science.

“I don’t have an extensive baseball background, but I believe that sport teaches character and life skills that prepare young people for the challenges they will face throughout their lives.”

2011 has already been a busy year for Baseball New Brunswick as they hosted the Baseball Canada Super Clinic in Moncton last January. This summer, the province will host the Senior Men’s National Championship in Chatham and the Baseball Canada Cup will make its way to Moncton in August.
