And the Winner is...London!

OTTAWA-Baseball Canada is pleased to announce the winner of Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest is Labatt Park in London, Ontario.

During a two-week voting period, where over 19,000 votes were cast, Labatt Park narrowly edged-out Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

“Baseball Canada congratulates Labatt Park and the residents of London, Ontario on winning this contest,” said Jim Baba, Director General of Baseball Canada. “We believe that quality ballparks and baseball facilities across Canada play a major role in promoting out sport. Labatt Park is all of that along with having a rich history that many ball players, not only in London but across this country, have had the experience of living first hand.”

The victory by Labatt Park completes the contest that originally received over forty submissions throughout Canada in late-June. From there, sixteen ballparks were selected and placed into groups of four where on-line voting took place over a four week period which determined the ‘final-four’. After two head-to-head semi-final weeks, Labatt Park and Port Arthur Stadium emerged as finalists.

Labatt Park will be presented with a banner, declaring it as Canada’s Favourite Ballpark, which can be proudly displayed at the park.

Baseball Canada would like to thank Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, ON and everyone who has supported this contest along the way.
