Baseball Canada announces championships host sites, category age change

OTTAWA- Four Baseball Canada National Championship hosts were determined during the annual Baseball Canada Fall Convention that recently took place in Halifax.

Congratulations to the following communities who were successful in the bidding process:

  • 2025 19U Women’s – Calgary, Alberta*
  • 2026 22U Men’s – Tecumseh, Ontario
  • 2026 Men’s – Chatham, New Brunswick
  • 2026 Baseball Canada Cup – Summerside, PEI

*After consultation with provincial bodies, a recommendation by Baseball Canada’s Championship Committee to switch the age category at 21U Women’s to a 19U Women’s event was approved by the Board of Directors for 2025.

With consideration to the impact that this decision could have on athletes and teams, age eligibility for the 2025 19U Women’s Championships will be as follows: 19 years old and younger who do not reach their 20th birthday during the year of competition. (NL, NS, NB, PEI, AB, SK, MB, ON2, QC2, and BC2 may bring three players who do not reach their 22nd birthday during the year of competition).
