OTTAWA – The Women’s National Team made a stop in the nation’s capital on Monday night on their way to the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto. They lost their matchup against the Ottawa Expos by a score of 8-7.

The friendly exhibition game was held at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park, the home of the Can-Am league’s Ottawa Champions. Fans of all ages came out to support the team in their contest against the Expos; an All-Star team comprised of division 2 players from the NCBL men’s league.

Pitcher Kate Psota (Burlington, ON) started on the mound for Team Canada. The veteran right-hander got into some trouble in the top of the first after giving up a couple triples, but managed to end the inning with a double-play.

After 4 innings of play, Canada found themselves in a hole. Down by a score of 7-0, the team was able to find a way to get the bats going. Canada’s offense put together 7 runs in two innings to tie the game at 7 going into the final inning of play.

The comeback fell short however as the Expos scored 1 run against pitcher Jessica Bérubé (Québec, QC) in the top of the 7th.
