Baseball Canada announces Year 2 of Women in Coaching Program

OTTAWA - Baseball Canada is thrilled to announce that registration for the Women in Coaching Program is officially open for 2025. Recently recognized by the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) with the 2024 Impact Award, this award-winning initiative continues to empower and advance female coaches within the sport of baseball. 

This program is set to provide a virtual platform for women to access development opportunities, peer and one-on-one mentorship, virtual coaching education, and more. 

As seen in the infographic below, three cohorts will be selected based on coaching experience, NCCP training, future aspirations, and more. Some of the optional program components are as follows:

“The Women in Coaching Program has become a key part of Baseball Canada’s efforts to foster inclusivity in our sport.”  said Baseball Canada’s Megan Cundari who oversees the program. “Winning the CAC’s Impact Award for this program highlighted its success, and we’re excited to continue empowering female coaches as we launch year two.” 

To register, please fill out the Registration Form before December 9th to be considered for selection. Applications for the third cohort remain open throughout the year, and those interested can apply at any time to participate in this active networking group. 

To be selected into the first and second cohort, key dates are as follows: 

  • Registration opens: Thursday, November 21st
  • Registration closes: Monday, December 9th
  • Names are announced: Friday, December 19th
  • Date to confirm participation: Monday, January 6th, 2025
  • Program start date: January 12th, 2025
  • Program end date: April 27th, 2025
