TORONTO- Baseball Canada elected its new executive and board of directors at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend in Toronto. The AGM brought together representation from each of Baseball Canada’s 10 member Provinces to discuss the growth and development of amateur baseball in Canada.
Ray Carter will return as President, being acclaimed in this year's election. Mr. Carter has served the association in this capacity since 2000 making this his seventh consecutive term as President.
Also being acclaimed was Jason Dickson who will return for his second term as Vice-President and Holly Lapierre was elected as Treasurer.
All 3 members of the executive will serve two-year terms.
The 10-member board of directors comprising one representative from each province was elected as follows:
British Columbia: John Berry
Alberta: Don Paulencu
Saskatchewan: Brian Trollope
Manitoba: Ken Sharpe
Ontario: David Huctwith
Quebec: Jean Boulais
New Brunswick: David Watling
Nova Scotia: Jody Frowley
Prince Edward Island: Don LeClair
Newfoundland: John Janes
The next Baseball Canada general assembly will take place at the Fall Convention slated for November 1st - 4th in Québec City.
