North York- After rain postponed games, the Senior Women’s Invitational tournament wrapped up at Bond Park this past weekend. Coming out on top in the Gold Medal game was Ontario who beat Alberta by a score of 4-0. In the Bronze Medal game, Québec topped Ontario (2).
The tournament also handed out awards recognizing the following players:
Top Catcher: Jen Gilroy- Ontario
Top Pitcher: Autumn Mills- Ontario
Top Defensive Player: Taelor Fredrickson- Saskatchewan
Top Hitter: Nicole Luchanski- Alberta
Tournament MVP: Jen Gilroy- Ontario
At the conclusion of the tournament Baseball Canada announced the names of 25-players who will compete for a spot on the Women’s National Team. Twenty (20) player's will be chosen to represent Canada at the Women’s World Cup in Caracas, Venezuela from August 12-22.
