National Championship hosts announced

OTTAWA-Earlier this month at the annual Fall Convention in Winnipeg, Baseball Canada revealed host cities for National Championships in the years 2012 and 2013.

Next summer the Baseball Canada Cup will be played at Labatt Park, the winner of Baseball Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest, in London, ON.

For the fourth year in a row, Vaughan, ON will host the Bantam Boys National Championship and also host in 2013, while the newly named Bantam Girls International Invitational will move to Hammonds Plains, NS for 2012 and 2013.

The province of Québec will host two National Championships in 2012 as the Midget title will be decided in Québec City, while the Junior event returns to Trois-Riviéres.

The Senior Men championship will be played on the west coast next year in Prince George, BC, while the Senior Women Invitational will be played in Spruce Grove, AB prior to the IBAF Women’s World Cup in Edmonton.

St. John’s, NL will host the Peewee Atlantic championship and the Peewee Western event will move to Saskatoon, SK.

In 2013 the Baseball Canada Cup will be played as part of the Canada Summer Games slated for Sherbrooke, QC.

The Senior Men event will move to the central part of the country as Windsor, ON will play host and the Junior event will be played in Dartmouth, NS.

Host provinces have been announced for other National Championships in 2013, while host cities are still to be determined.
