OTTAWA-Baseball Canada is pleased to announce that Ian Kmec from Pincourt, Quebec is the 30,000th coach to register on Baseball Canada’s On-line coaching certification system, NCCP.baseball.ca.
To recognize this feat, Baseball Canada will be sending Ian a prize package that includes access to nccp.baseball.ca, a Baseball Canada hat, shorts and batting shell, and other Baseball Canada merchandise.
“We wanted to do something to recognize this milestone and bring awareness to our on-line coaching system,” said Baseball Canada’s Program Coordinator Kelsey McIntosh. “The fact that 30,000 coaches have taken advantage of this great resource speaks volumes for how valuable this coaching tool has become which is very positive for the future of baseball in Canada.”
Ian is a coach under the Baseball Association of Presqu’île Quebec, where he coaches his son at the Atome level. Like many parents, Ian's involvement with the game began when his son registered for baseball at young age as a member of the Rally Cap program. Since Baseball Canada launched this initiative nation-wide in 2006, Rally Cap has satisfied young baseball players and their parents and continues to be a useful tool for those involved in teaching baseball at the community level.
Formerly a Curling coach out of Montreal, Ian was pleasantly surprised when told that Canada now had over 30, 000 registered coaches from coast to coast. Congratulations Ian, hope you are having a great season!
