OTTAWA – The 2026 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft is set to begin Saturday, July 11, with hopeful Canadian players including current and former Junior National Team members looking to hear their names called over the two-day event.
Eight teams are set to meet in Winnipeg, Manitoba, for the 2026 Women’s National Championship which will run from July 9th to 12th.
The Canadian Junior National Team fell 10–3 to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the finale of the 2026 MLB Draft League International Series at Credit Union Field at Eastwood.

The Junior National Team dropped the series opener 12–3 to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers at Credit Union Field at Eastwood in Niles, OH.
The Canadian Junior National Team showed plenty of fight but fell 11–8 to the State College Spikes in the series finale at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
