OTTAWA – Day two provided more high scoring finishes, including close games at all tiers of the Baseball Canada national championships.

13U National Championship
In one of the most thrilling games of the week thus far, Prince Edward Island were able to walk off Quebec in the bottom of the seventh. With the score tied 10-10, runners were able to advance on a passed ball before Owen Lynch singled home Cody McCormack for a 11-10 win with an RBI single.
That gave PEI their second win of the tournament, tying Quebec and Saskatchewan for first in their division. There’s a log jam on that side of the standings, but North York still has a stranglehold on Pool A with their perfect 3-0 record.

15U Ray Carter Cup
Quebec and Saskatchewan are the two remaining undefeated sides in Summerside, PEI, where 10 teams vie for the Ray Carter Cup.
Quebec scored runs in all but one inning against New Brunswick, handing them a 12-1 loss in their second game of the tournament. Zachary Clavet got the victory on the mound – he had a no-hitter through four innings before being removed from the game.
Saskatchewan had a tighter affair in their game against Alberta, but were still able to hammer out a victory. They took a 10-7 decision after Dylan Edmands notched a grand slam home run to help them keep their perfect record.

21U Women’s Invitational
Quebec and Ontario continue to pull away from the competition, currently both holding above .500 records to this point of the tournament.
The two teams met today, when Ontario took away their third win of the tournament, handing Quebec their first loss by a score of 8-4.
Ontario took the win in the top of the seventh inning, breaking a 3-3 tie by scoring five runs. Offensively, Emily Baxter led the way with two walks and two RBI.

Men’s Championship
Both Alberta teams got off to hot starts and remained undefeated into day two of the senior championship.
Sherwood Park, at a 3-0 record, edged NL 7-6 in one of their games Friday. The teams traded two run innings before Sherwood Park took the lead with one run in the bottom of the sixth, off an RBI from Cole Schneider to centre field.
