USA too much for Canada

Cary, North Carolina- The Women’s National Team suffered their second loss of the International Friendship Series, this time 10-4 score to a combined team of USA Red and Blue.

With the US up 3-0 in the 5th, they proceeded to score 6 runs to take a commanding 9-0 lead.

Canada broke the shutout bid in the 6th when Stephanie Savoie (La Pocatiére, QC) doubled to score Kate Psota (Burlington, ON) from first base. Savoie came around to score when Hannah Martensen (Ottawa, ON) hit a double of her own. Martensen would later score on a single from Bradi Wall (Saskatoon, SK).

Three US pitcher’s combined for the victory and held Canada hitless through the first 4 innings of the game.

Notes: Canada will play their final contest of the International Friendship Series on Sunday (August 7th) when they take on the Raleigh Red Sox Men’s club…Game time is scheduled for 9am ET.
