Tokyo - Team Canada finished off the 2010 World University Baseball Championships with a wild 15-14 extra innings victory over Chinese Taipei to claim 5th place at the tournament with a 4-2 record. This matches Canada's best ever finish at this event, as Canada took 5th place in the Czech Republic in 2008 with a record of 3-4.
Tokyo, Japan - Canada used solid pitching and the long ball to defeat China 17-3 in a qualification game at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships in Japan. After losing to Korea in the quarter-finals and having their medal hopes dashed, Team Canada came out strong and scored early and often against the Chinese team. Eric Brown (Thunder Bay, ON) picked up the win and Canada went deep 4 times on the afternoon.
Tokyo, Japan - Team Canada ran into control issues in its quarter-final match-up with Korea and a combination of 8 walks and 5 hit batsmen was too much for Canada to overcome, as they dropped a 7-4 decision and are now out of contention for a medal at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships in Japan.
Yokahoma, Japan - In a battle for first place in Group A at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships, Team Canada came out flat against Team USA and dropped an 8-1 decision. The loss puts Canada in second place in Group A and sets up a quarter-final game with Korea, the third place finisher in Group B. The quarter final is scheduled for August 3rd at 2pm local time in Japan.
Thunder Bay- It turned out to be too much of a turnaround from the semi-final loss the previous night as the Junior National Team fell to Cuba 8-2 in the Bronze Medal game.
