North Adams MA- The JNT did not do themselves any favours in their third game of the pre-worlds tour against the North Adams SteepleCats of the NECBL. Offensively the team struck out 14 times while three pitchers combined to give up 10 walks en route to a 2-1 loss.
Laconia NH- The JNT had a whirlwind day on Thursday flying from Toronto to Boston and immediately jumping on a bus to open their pre-worlds tour against the Laconia Muskrats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League. After rallying to tie the game in the top of the 9th, the JNT eventually fell to the Muskrats by a score of 6-5.
OTTAWA- Joey Votto (Etobicoke, ON) has been voted in by the fans to the All- Star Game taking place in Anaheim on July 13th. It wasn’t easy for the first baseman of the Cincinnati Reds who was chosen as the final player for the National League roster. Votto’s season has been anything but ‘last player’ status this year, Votto has put up MVP type numbers, hitting at a .314 clip to go along with 22 homeruns and 60 RBI’s.
TORONTO- The JNT held their final team practice before the exhibition portion of their schedule gets underway on Thursday. Away from the vicious Toronto heat and inside the comfy confines of the climate controlled Rogers Centre the team looked poised and ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
St. Marys, ON- After assembling in Toronto yesterday the JNT team got down to work in St. Marys, home of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. The day started off when the JNT was greeted by President and CEO of the Hall of Fame Tom Valcke. Valcke who has spent the past 10 years at his current role in St. Marys provided the team with a tour of the hall’s museum and shared only a few of the many stories the hall has to offer. He also had some wise words to share about the history of baseball in Canada.
OTTAWA- Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau (New Westminster, BC) will start at first base for the American League in the All-Star Game taking place in Anaheim on July 13th. Morneau was voted in as the starter by the fans making it the first time he has started in an All Star Game.

OTTAWA- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Eastern League are the double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and have seven members of their team heading to the Eastern League All Star game. Two members of the team selected to the game are Canadians Shawn Bowman (Port Moody, BC) and Trystan Magnuson (Vancouver, BC).
OTTAWA- The baseball season in Newfoundland is finally getting into the swing of things after the province experienced some inclement weather in May. This delay affected all associations in the province which have really just begun to start their programs.
