TORONTO- Baseball Canada elected its new executive and board of directors at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) this weekend in Toronto. The AGM brought together representation from each of Baseball Canada’s 10 member Provinces to discuss the growth and development of amateur baseball in Canada.
OTTAWA-The Women’s National Team wrapped up the Triangle Series in Cuba by blanking Venezuela 2-0 earlier today. Canada had defeated Cuba 11-5 on Tuesday and 10-7 on Wednesday to finish the Triangle Series with a 5-1 record.

OTTAWA- The Women’s National Team defeated the Cuban National Team by scores of 8-7 and 6-1 before dropping a 10-6 decision to Venezuela at the Triangle Series in Cuba. The event is being used as a tune-up for the Women’s World Cup which will take place August 10th-19th in Edmonton, Alberta.
OTTAWA-The MLB First-Year Player Draft concluded today with rounds sixteen through forty taking place where 17 Canadians were selected bringing the total number of Canadians selected for the three-day event to 26.
OTTAWA-Eric Wood (Pickering, ON) became the first Canadian selected in the 2012 MLB First-Year Player Draft today when the Pittsburgh Pirates took him in the 6th round, 196th overall.
