MONCTON-Day 3 of the Baseball Canada Cup saw a total of eight round-robin games played. With the round-robin set to wrap-up on Saturday the playoff picture is beginning to take shape. Visit www.baseball.ca for the latest schedule, results and standings!

OTTAWA-Due to Baseball.ca being inaccessible over a significant period of time, the voting period for semi-final #1, between Okotoks, AB and Thunder Bay, ON, in Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest has been extended until Tuesday August 16th at 10am ET. Semi-final #2 which sees Trois-Riviéres, QC taking on London, ON will begin voting on Tuesday August 16th at 12pm ET and conclude on Tuesday August 23rd at 10am ET. The final round of voting to determine Canada’s Favourite Ballpark will start on Tuesday August 23rd at 12pm ET and run until Tuesday September 6th at 10am ET. Canada’s Favourite Ballpark will be announced on Wednesday September 7th at 12pm ET. Baseball Canada apologizes for this untimely inconvenience.

OTTAWA- After a two-year run in Kindersley, Saskatchewan the Baseball Canada Cup moves to Moncton, New Brunswick with play beginning on Wednesday. The event features a select team from all 10 provinces competing for a National Championship. Rosters will showcase some of the most talented 16 and 17 year-old baseball players in the country

OTTAWA- Labatt Park in London, Ontario has advanced to the semi-final round in Canada’s Favourite Ballpark contest. During the past week, Labatt Park received an impressive 79% of the total votes making them the Week 4 winner.

OTTAWA- Matt Stairs (Fredericton, NB) has decided to retire after a wonderful 19-year career in Major League Baseball. Stairs’ career has seen him where the uniform of 13 different big-league clubs and win a World Series with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. Stairs also holds the major league record for the most career pinch-hit homeruns with 23.
