Seoul, Korea- For the first time since 1991, Canada will play for gold at the IBAF 18U World Baseball Championship.
OTTAWA – The Peewee Atlantic Championships kicked off its first day with four games. The four games today along with Friday’s schedule are all round-robin games that will determine the standings heading in to Saturday’s placement games and semi-final matchups.
Seoul, Korea- Despite a 9-3 loss to host South Korea, Canada has booked a ticket to Saturday’s gold medal game at the IBAF 18U World Baseball Championship.
OTTAWA – Day 2 concluded with four round-robin games played. The remaining portion of round-robin play will finish tomorrow morning, with the placement games and semi-finals to be played in the afternoon and evening.
Seoul, Korea- In a span of a little more than twenty-four hours, Canada won for third time in three games and with a win tomorrow over host South Korea will clinch a spot in Saturday's gold medal game at the IBAF 18U World Baseball Championships.
Seoul, Korea- Canada hammered out fourteen hits, including eight doubles and Brock Dykxhoorn (Goderich, ON) provided 7 1/3 solid innings on the mound as Canada pounded Panama 10-1.
Seoul, Korea- Ryan Kellogg (Whitby, ON) tossed 8 2/3 shutout innings, Nathan DeSouza (Milton, ON) came up with an RBI single in the top of the tenth and Dayton Dawe (London, ON) shut the door in the bottom of the tenth as Canada blanked the United States 1-0 in ten innings.
OTTAWA – The Peewee Atlantic Championships will be hosted in St. John’s Newfoundland, this weekend that will see a group of teams from the four Atlantic provinces battle each other for a championship.
SEOUL-The scheduled game between Canada and Panama has been postponed until tomorrow (September 5th) at 10am local time (9pm ET on September 4th) due to rain that lasted throughout the day in Seoul.
Seoul, Korea- Myles Vincent (Corner Brook, NL) went seven innings and struck out nine, while Canada managed just enough offence to defeat the Czech Republic 3-2 to improve their record to 3-1 at the IBAF 18U World Championship.
