OTTAWA- Baseball Québec has been nominated for the Federation of the Year Award by Sport Québec. This is the first time that Baseball Québec has been nominated for the award that has been handed out annually since 2004.

OTTAWA- Baseball Canada would like to announce that the Moncton and District Minor Baseball Association has become the ninth association to become RBI approved since Baseball Canada introduced the RBI Program in 2008. The association also becomes the first to be RBI approved in New Brunswick and the first amongst the Atlantic Provinces.
Note: Pat Gillick joins Ferguson Jenkins as the second Canadian inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Born in California, Gillick became a Canadian citizen in 2005. Gillick is also a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
OTTAWA- Brett Lawrie (Langley, BC) is now a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. The former Junior National Team star and also a member of the 2008 Olympic team and the 2009 World Baseball Classic club was dealt by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Jays for RHP Shaun Marcum.

OTTAWA- Wayne Parro (Brooklin, ON) is moving on to a different role within Baseball Canada. Parro will chair the newly formed Baseball Canada Coaching Committee. This will be a new role for Parro within Baseball Canada as he just ended a seven year run as an assistant coach with the Women’s National Team. The current Executive Director of Coaches of Canada feels comfortable knowing that the program is headed in the right direction.
