Tokyo, Japan - Canada used solid pitching and the long ball to defeat China 17-3 in a qualification game at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships in Japan. After losing to Korea in the quarter-finals and having their medal hopes dashed, Team Canada came out strong and scored early and often against the Chinese team. Eric Brown (Thunder Bay, ON) picked up the win and Canada went deep 4 times on the afternoon.
Tokyo, Japan - Team Canada ran into control issues in its quarter-final match-up with Korea and a combination of 8 walks and 5 hit batsmen was too much for Canada to overcome, as they dropped a 7-4 decision and are now out of contention for a medal at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships in Japan.
Yokahoma, Japan - In a battle for first place in Group A at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships, Team Canada came out flat against Team USA and dropped an 8-1 decision. The loss puts Canada in second place in Group A and sets up a quarter-final game with Korea, the third place finisher in Group B. The quarter final is scheduled for August 3rd at 2pm local time in Japan.
Thunder Bay- It turned out to be too much of a turnaround from the semi-final loss the previous night as the Junior National Team fell to Cuba 8-2 in the Bronze Medal game.
Thunder Bay- The Junior National Team booked their ticket to the semi-finals of the World Junior Baseball Championships with an 11-1 mercy-rule win over Italy. The game was never in doubt as the JNT offence put on their finest display of the tournament. The win propels the JNT into a semi-final match with Chinese Taipei who earlier in the day knocked off the Netherlands.
Tokyo, Japan - Canada improved its record to 2-0 at the 2010 World University Baseball Championships in Japan with a convincing 18-0 route (game called in 5th inning) of the inexperienced team from Sri Lanka. Team Canada physically out matched the Sri Lankan team in every facet of the game.
Thunder Bay- Pitcher Lo Kuo Hua threw a complete game 3-hitter as the Junior National Team lost the semi-final game of the World Junior Baseball Championship to Chinese Taipei 3-1. The JNT will play for the Bronze Medal against Cuba who earlier in the day was upset by Australia in other semi-final by a score of 2-1.
North York- Baseball Canada would like to announce the Women’s National Team roster that will compete at the Women’s World Cup in Caracas, Venezuela from August 12th -22nd . The 20-player roster was chosen from 25 women that participated in a try-out process this past week. All 25-women played in the Senior Women’s Invitational that took place at Bond Park in North York from July 22nd – 25th.

Thunder Bay- Fans can watch the Canadian Junior National Team go for gold this weekend in Thunder Bay. Fans will have the opportunity to watch Canada take on Chinese Taipei in the semi-final and also watch both the Bronze and Gold Medal games.
