Lagos de Moreno, Mexico-Canada earned a trip to the semi-finals at the Pan Am Games after a 4-1 win against Venezuela. The win clinches second place in Group B and Canada will now face the winner of tonight’s Group A match-up between USA and Mexico.

Lagos de Moreno, Mexico-Canada had no answer for Cuba’s offence early-on as the Cubans built a seven run lead through three innings. The Canadians made a valiant effort to comeback but came up on the losing end of a 9-5 decision. The loss puts Canada’s record at one win and one loss (1-1) heading into Saturday’s must-win contest with Venezuela at the Pan Am Games.

Aguadulce, Panama-It couldn’t have gone any better for Canada today at the 39th IBAF World Cup. A doubleheader and two must-win games on the line and Canada not only won both, but didn’t allow a run while doing so. Canada now faces another big game on Friday where they must beat Cuba to have any hope of playing in Saturday’s gold medal game.

Chitre, Panama-Heavy rain caused the cancellation of three second round games on Wednesday at the 39th IBAF World Cup, including the scheduled Canada/South Korea match-up. A game between Australia and Netherlands reached the seventh inning but was suspended when heavy rain hit the Santiago area.

Santiago, Panama-Australian starter Ryan Searle allowed only three hits, while his teammates slugged-out eleven, as Canada was shutout 7-0 by the Aussies at the 39th IBAF World Cup. Although this was Canada’s first game in round two, their record now stands at 2-2 as round one results against teams also advancing to round two counts towards your overall record.
