OTTAWA - Baseball Canada announced the Junior National Team roster which will be making its way to Orlando, Florida at Disney’s Wide World of Sports complex for the Fall Instructional League Camp from October 5th to 15th.
OTTAWA – Vince Perkins (Victoria, BC) and Matt Kniginyzky (Oakville, ON) have both been named to Canada’s 2009 Baseball World Cup roster, completing the 24-man roster for the tournament which begins for Canada on September 9th in Stockholm, Sweden.
CARY, North Carolina – There were some very good signs of things to come for Team Canada during their first exhibition game against the United States tonight. The only negative was the end result as Canada dropped its exhibition opener 6-4.
CARY, North Carolina – Team Canada held their first team practice today at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in preparation for their four game exhibition series against the United States to gear up for the IBAF Baseball World Cup and a lot of new faces were on hand.
OTTAWA – Baseball Canada has announced its 24-man roster for the IBAF Baseball World Cup which begins on September 9th in Europe. Team Canada has revealed 23 names with one roster decision still pending.
CHARLOTTETOWN – A five run third inning was more than enough for Québec to claim their first gold medal in baseball at the Canada Games since 1993 with an 8-1 win over Alberta.
CHARLOTTETOWN – Alberta came up with perhaps the biggest surprise of the tournament at the Canada Games by upsetting heavily favoured Ontario by a score of 2-0 to reach the gold medal game.
CHARLOTTETOWN – With British Columbia’s loss last night, all that was left to determine for the medal round was who would advance between Alberta and Saskatchewan in Pool B. Today we got our answer as both teams squared off this afternoon.
CHARLOTTETOWN – It was a battle between two undefeated teams, and familiar foes, looking to claim top spot in Pool A at the Canada Games. Ontario and Québec did battle in what was the continuation in an excellent rivalry.
CHARLOTTETOWN – The early games on Day 2 of the Canada Games saw why Ontario, Québec and British Columbia are considered the heavy favourites to leave the Games with medals around their necks.
