In Canada, a grassroots program with the name of Rally Cap is growing bigger and bigger, playing a major role in the lives of countless kids. Just imagine a team of five and six year-olds, with their matching jerseys and rainbow assortment of hats, running onto the field and ready for a show-down. Indeed, this would qualify as an “awww” moment.
PRINCE GEORGE – An eight run outburst in the fourth inning and a 5-for-5 day from Kevin Atkinson was more than enough for Team Canada to earn their second win at the Enbridge Northern Gateway World Baseball Challenge, as three Canadian pitchers combined for a no-hitter as they would go on to crush the Bahamas in a 14-0 mercy victory.
PRINCE GEORGE – Team Canada is off to a solid start after the opening weekend of the 2009 World Baseball Challenge in Prince George, B.C. Canada sits in a three way tie for third at the moment with a 1-1 record in the tournament after an opening their schedule on Saturday with a win over Team BC by a score of 6-2, followed by a defeat at the hands of Team USA on Sunday by a score of 5-2.
GRANBY – It took some extra time for some last minute dramatics, but Canada Black was able to rally in the top of the ninth to comeback and beat Japan 3-1 to capture the gold medal at the International Women’s Invitational Series.

GRANBY – Québec would run the table at the Baseball Canada Senior Women’s National Championship on route to a gold medal performance in the final as they would defeat Ontario by a score of 5-0 to capture the National Championship.
OTTAWA – It was a rainy day in St. Louis on Sunday, but did not dampen the spirits of the four Canadians in the XM All-Star Futures Game.
HAVANA, Cuba – The Junior National Team allowed three earned runs in the finale of the Cuban exhibition series, however 16 runs came across the plate for Cuba as they would go on to defeat the Canadians by a score 16-9 in the sixth and final game of the series.
HAVANA, Cuba – The Junior National Team and Cuba are at a standstill after heavy rain started to fall after six complete innings. Play will resume tomorrow as game five of this exhibition series has been suspended with Cuba leading Canada 3-0.
