St. Cloud MN- Team USA scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and limited the JNT to one-hit on the evening en-route to a 9-0 win at Faber Field. This was the final tune-up game before the start of the World Junior Baseball Championship on July 23rd.

OTTAWA- The 2010 Senior Women’s Invitational tournament will be played from July 22-25 at Bond Park in Toronto. The event will feature six teams vying for a championship. The teams that will be represented this year include: Alberta, Nova Scotia, two teams representing Ontario (Ontario and Ontario 2), the defending champions from Québec and the Québec Midget team. The event will also be used to select player’s that will compete for a spot on the Women’s National Team. Head Coach of the Women’s National Team, André Lachance is extremely excited about the upcoming tournament and the future of the event in Canada.

St. Cloud MN- Three pitchers combined to strikeout fourteen JNT batter’s and the Taiwanese used two, 2-run innings to shutout the JNT 4-0. The afternoon contest at Faber Field was the second-to-last exhibition game that the JNT will play before the start of the World Junior Baseball Championships in Thunder Bay, beginning July 23rd.

Saint Paul MN- After losing to Team USA two nights earlier, the JNT were able to get some solid pitching and timely hitting to defeat the Americans 4-3. This brought to a close the Saint Paul portion of the pre-world’s tour as the JNT creep closer to the start of the World Junior Baseball Championships in Thunder Bay beginning July 23rd.

Saint Paul MN- The JNT had their first taste of International competition facing Team USA, beginning the Minnesota leg of the pre-world’s tour. Thanks to 4 costly errors and facing some tough American pitching, the JNT came out on the losing end of a 7-2 game.

Saint Paul MN- For the third time in four games the JNT was forced to sit through a delay. This time the game had started as scheduled but lightning forced a stoppage that last for 40 minutes. The short break in action was not a factor as the JNT prevailed with a 7-4 victory against the Twin City High School All Stars.

New Bedford MA- For the second consecutive night the JNT was forced to endure another rain delay that lasted in excess of two hours. The shortened 7 inning contest featured a pitcher’s duel with the Bay Sox earning a 2-0 win in a game played in one and a half hours.

Torrington CT- The scene at Fuessenich Park did not look promising when the first pitch was supposed to be thrown between the JNT and the Torrington Titans of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League. After a rain delay lasting more than two hours and some incredible work by the grounds crew the game was played in 7 innings with the JNT coming out on top 4-3.

Danbury CT- The JNT got their first win of the pre-world’s tour as they defeated the Danbury Westerners of the NECBL. Taking advantage of 4 walks in the top of the 9th inning to break a tie game, the JNT hung on for a 9-7 come from behind victory.
