OTTAWA-The 2010 World Junior Baseball Championship was a resounding success on and off the field in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Team Canada played its way to a fourth place finish in front of capacity crowds each game at Port Arthur Stadium.

Cartagena, Colombia-The Junior National Team gave-up seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and the deficit was too much to overcome as they dropped a 12-2 decision to the United States in the final game of the Americas World Junior Qualification Tournament.
Cartagena, Colombia-In front of a raucous, pro-Colombian crowd, the Junior National Team played some old-fashion Canadian baseball and earned a 4-3 win against host Colombia. The win clinches a berth in next year’s IBAF World Junior Baseball Championship slated for Seoul, South Korea and also sets-up a first-place showdown with undefeated USA tomorrow (the game will begin 30 minutes after the completion of the 10am ET game).
Cartagena, Colombia-Mexico scored the eventual game winning run on a squeeze play with one out in the top of the ninth and held off Canada in the bottom of the inning to win 3-2. The loss, Canada’s first of the tournament, puts their record at 2-1 in round two of the Americas World Junior Qualification Tournament.
Cartagena, Colombia-Clayton Isherwood (Van Anda, BC) tossed eight shutout innings and Jacob Robson (Windsor, ON) was a sparkplug on offence as the Junior National Team wrapped-up round one play with an 11-0 mercy-rule win over Guatemala. Canada will begin round two of the Americas World Junior Qualification Tournament against Mexico on Friday at 9am ET.
Cartagena, Colombia-It wasn’t pretty, but the Junior National Team clinched first place in Group A with an emotional 4-3 win over previously unbeaten Venezuela. The Juniors will play Guatemala on Thursday before round two action begins on Friday at the Americas World Junior Qualification Tournament.
